What I need to understand better is whether the blockchain for bitcoin the
money is the same one that would power these other use cases, or whether
you need a different blockchain and network for those. If we can use the
same blockchain for all of it, then I could see bitcoin failing as a
currency but succeeding at changing the world.

This kind of only still leaves me with 2 questions. How secure is Bitcoin?
I’m having a hard time here wondering how unhackable and unstealable it is.

Contrary to what the title suggests, this is not as much a video about
Bitcoin than a video about blockchain.
Blockchain is indestructible. Bitcoin is not.
If you are not convinced about the fragility of Bitcoin, read
“United we stand, divided we fall – the coming rise of cryptofiat”

    and particularly this sentence:
“The best way to kill Bitcoin et al is to make it irrelevant.”

An awesome video description on how digital money is just the beginning of
    blockchain tech. #Bitcoin #Blockchain

  12. avatar Mark Ford says:

A positive spin but would also like to see a video with a more balanced
    message. For example:

    1. bitcoin can effectively be burnt (Counterparty et al) by sending to
public addresses with no known private keys (intentioally or otherwise).

    2. some users might not understand the finer points about change addresses
    etc.

    3. users might also lose bitcoin when using multiple wallets with
    different management rules.

    4. block chain tech can also be implemented by private companies and
governments with their own draconian rules.

    5. consensus is not the same as freedom e.g. that the majority of
processing nodes might at some point agree to break rules of neutrality
    e.g. to gambling sites

Let the bitcoin evangelists out, I’m ready for ya :-p

[VIDEO] The real value of #bitcoin and #cryptocurrency technology – Bitcoin
Properly: http://buff.ly/1znw4C6 – In the coming years, the technology
behind crypto currencies such as Bitcoin will inevitably and radically
change the role of traditional trusted parties such as banks, accountants,
notaries, and governments. The animated video about Bitcoin is the first to
specifically address the technology behind Bitcoin: the Blockchain. Within
five minutes, it is explained how the essential functions of the “trusted
third party” can be automatized through the Blockchain as well as what the
    implications of this are.

*+ à voir* : une vidéo indispensable pour comprendre que, contrairement à
ce qu’on entend un peu partout, le Bitcoin n’est pas un outil de
spéculation mais une révolution économique potentielle

Possibly a stupid question, and I’m guessing the answer is “no”, but…
If all trade is public to everyone on the network, does that mean if
someone establishes my identity they will be able to track all my future
transactions and see all the ones I made in the past?
